#5 Built on WordPress
I’m putting this as #5, but it could also be easily switched to #1. The Divi Theme is built on WordPress. That of course means that you have access to thousands of plugins to add all sorts of functionality to your website. If you want to add an online store you can do that. Divi even comes with settings specifically for WooCommerce online store plugin. If you want to add a social network you can add Buddy Press. Just about anything that you can think of doing with your website there’s a WordPress plugin for. Since Divi is a WordPress theme you can add just about any functionality you can think of to a website build with Divi.
#4 Portable Pages
Portable pages or what Divi calls page templates are a major innovation. With the Divi theme you can create a page and then export that entire page as it’s own file. That file includes all of the layout, text and images in one package. This allows you to do a couple of really cool things. One is get great looking page templates from other designers. I have a listing of free page Templates for Divi.
Divi Page Templates or Portable Pages also gives you a quicker way to do a page redesign. I like to load WordPress directly on my computer and then work on and build my pages on my local machine. With Divi I can now copy a complete redesigned page from my computer and upload it to my site. After it has been uploaded, with just the press of a button I can do a complete page update and redesign. I really like that.
#3 Build Unlimited Websites
If you are a web designer and you build websites for other people, or even if you just want to build a couple of websites for yourself this is an amazing offering. Not all themes tell you that it’s ok to build as many sites as you want. Divi does, and that’s with all of their packages. The bottom two tiers give you the ability to build an unlimited number of websites and give you access to technical support and updates for one year. After that your site or sites will still work, you just won’t have access to the updates or technical support. What I think is actually the best bargain is the lifetime plan. The development team behind Divi has proven over the years that I have been watching them to keep pushing the boundaries and keep innovating and delivering a quality product. I look at their lifetime package as having paid a onetime fee for an awesome development team. They just keep working in the background to make my sites better. So that’s number 3 unlimited website.
#2 New Front End Page Builder
With the release of Divi 3 came a brand new front end page builder. The page builder is easy to use and has a great look to it. To modify text on a page you can simply click on it and start editing. If you want to add content to a page you just click on the plus icon to add it. Grey Icons are for content, Green icons are for rows and Blue icons are to new sections. My favorite feature about the Divi Visual builder is that it stays out of the way, so that you can see what your design is going to look like.
And the #1 Divi Feature….
# 1 A/B Split testing.
This is one of the more advanced features that the Divi theme offers, but it’s one that is quite frankly game changing. If you want to get the most out of your website. Find ways to drive more conversions. This one tool can help you do it. I think that it’s absolutely amazing that they built it right into the theme. I think that they easily could have charged $1000 or more for this feature alone, but they’ve included at every pricing tier of the theme. Amazing.
What split testing allows you to run experiments and find out what is resonating with your viewers and getting them to take action on your site.
The way it works is that you select a test subject let’s say a headline for example. You then create two or more headlines that you think will get your audience to take action. You then select a goal so something like a button. The theme will then display your different headlines to different viewers. It will keep track of how many visitors came to your test page and then how many of them clicked the button. It generates a graph that shows you which of the headlines got more of your viewers to take action and click the button.
You can run this test on just about any element on your site. It’s not limited to just headlines
I think this is just amazing and it’s included right in the theme. It’s innovations like this that make me so excited about this theme. I wish when I first discovered Divi that I had just purchased the Lifetime Plan right away instead of waiting. The developers of the Divi theme don’t just keep up, they keep ahead of the pack.
