Getting started building your restaurant website.
Before you start building your restaurant website there are somethings that you will need to put together.
- Images of your restaurant
- Some images of your food
- Description of your restaurant
- Description of the type of cuisine that you offer
- Link to any reservation system that you might be using
Having these items ready to go will help to speed up your website building process. With this information you should be able to build your webiste in 30 min – 1 hour using Jimdo.
Getting started with Jimdo
It’s a little bit confusing, but there are two versions of Jimdo, Jimdo Dolphin and Jimdo Creator. If you want to build your website quickly and easily you will want to use Jimdo Dolphin.
The Jimdo website does not actually mention that there are two versions you just have to some how know. In the video I show you how to make sure that you are selecting the Jimdo Dolphin version.
To select Jimdo Dolphin after signing up on the first page select the website option.
There is a second option screen and you want to select the no coding required option.
Next Jimdo will ask you a series of questions to help decide on the kind of pages that you might need for your website.
This will lead to 2 design options. Don’t worry if you aren’t impressed with these 2 options you can easily change the look of your website once you start editing it.

What I like about the Jimdo website builder is that it is just so easy to use. One of the first things that you will see when you start building your website is the assistant window. This is a great guide that will walk you through every step that you need to do to build your website.
